B-29 ‘Doc’, Skip Stewart, Phillips 66 Team & Red Tail Squadron to Fly at June 2022 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., July 19 – The B-29 ‘Doc’ that flew an honor flight with WWII veterans, First Responders and the next generation of STEM professionals this past weekend at Spirit of St. Louis Airport will return to Chesterfield for the 2022 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo. Skip Stewart, one of the most talented aerobatic pilots in the world, the Phillips 66® Team, and the CAF Red Tail Squadron, honoring our Tuskegee Airmen, have also been added to a growing list of amazing performers at the June 2022 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo in Chesterfield, Missouri.

These amazing flyers will appear alongside the previously announced US Navy Blue Angels, flying their made-in-Missouri F/A-18 Super Hornets, and the B-17 “Yankee Lady.” More performers will be announced in the coming months.

“Our mission is to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals,” John Bales, president of the Spirit of St. Louis Airshow & STEM Expo and Spirit of St. Louis Airport Director, said. “These amazing performers inspire thousands each year, and our event allows them to look at STEM heroes in flight, and then visit the STEM Expo to find out how they can pursue STEM careers in the future.”

The 2022 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo is scheduled for June 11-12 at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield. Previous air shows have been held there in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019. In addition to the extensive static ramp and air show performances on both days, the event will feature the large, interactive STEM Expo and the Veteran-honoring Patriots Landing.

All tickets will be sold online only. Check out the website at www.spirit-airshow.com for details and updates on when tickets will be available.

The Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo is a non-profit organization founded in 2012, restarting the legacy air show previously known as the St. Louis County Fair & Air Show as an independent, volunteer-run organization.
