B-25 & Avenger to Fly in Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., April 5, 2022 - The 2022 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo is two months away and now two more historic aircraft will be joining the made-in-Missouri U.S. Navy Blue Angels in Chesterfield, June 11-12. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Missouri Wing will be returning to the event and will take flight with their B-25 Mitchell “Show Me” and TBM-3 Avenger.

The B-25 Mitchell “Show Me” entered service in January 1945 and served as a trainer aircraft until it was retired in 1958. It joined the CAF Missouri Wing in 1982.The TBM-3E Avenger entered service in May 1945 and served on the West Coast and at Pearl Harbor. It joined the Missouri Wing in 2000.

 

“These are amazing historic aircraft and are a crowd favorite at our event, and we are thrilled they will be returning this June,” said John Bales, President of the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show committee and Spirit of St. Louis Airport Director. “The legacy of these aircraft is inspiring, and we are excited that they will continue to inspire the next generation and honor those that serve.”

 

In addition to the B-25, Avenger and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo, presented by Boeing, will feature P-51s, Skyhawk, Corsair, F-35, EA-18G Growler, Spitfires, Hurricanes, Mosquito, Skip Stewart, Matt Younkin in his Beech 18, “Yankee Lady” B-17G, B-29 “Doc,” the Phillips 66 Team, the PB4Y-2 Privateer, the US Army Black Daggers and other amazing acts to be announced in the coming months.

The 2022 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo, presented by Boeing, will be headlined by the US Navy Blue Angels and is scheduled for June 11-12, 2022 at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield.
